WEBSITE REDESIGN

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Vibe Fitness is on a mission is to provide a full range of fitness services through their experienced health and wellness coaches while facilitating a positive, inclusive, and fun environment for their members. The redesigned Vibe Fitness website makes online membership enrollment a more seamless and user-friendly experience.

ROLE

This was an independent freelance project where I was solely responsible for the entire end-to-end design process.

PROBLEM

Customers were in need of accessible online information and resources regarding the Vibe Fitness membership and personal training programs. Previously, the only enrollment process was through direct contact with the owner.

SOLUTION

The new website utilizes user-centric design principles to provide accessible and comprehensive information regarding the Vibe Fitness membership and personal training programs.

USER RESEARCH

ANALYZING THE PREVIOUS WEBSITE

  • The only information regarding the membership and personal training program is a brief paragraph and a contact form.
  • Member enrollment documents are not accessible online, and new members may be unaware that these documents need to be reviewed and signed before they can use the facility.
  • Information on the homepage is cluttered and disorganized, obstructing the flow of the page.
  • Overuse of stock imagery and clip art is not reflective of the brand’s visual identity.
  • Not mobile responsive.

USER ANALYSIS

  • Site visitors would typically end their session after viewing the memberships page and/or personal training page – this suggests that these pages are the most sought after, yet are not populated with enough content to keep users engaged and that the information they’re looking for is not accessible.
  • 80% of site visitors access the website on a mobile device and are in need of a mobile responsive interface.

USER FLOW DEVELOPMENT

The main objective of revising the user flow was to prioritze membership enrollment over all other content. However, the new home page will also feature a more welcoming interface, an intuitive navigation menu, and scrollable content for the user to explore.

In addition to membership enrollment, the revised user flow also highlights other products and services offered by Vibe Fitness. Information regarding brand merch and the nutrition bar will also be implemented into the new site so that customers are aware that Vibe Fitness offers more than just an open gym.

REFINING THE DESIGN

To finalize the new site’s interface, I implemented branded visual elements to further immerse users into a cohesive scrolling experience. This was also an opportunity to evolve the current visual identity of Vibe Fitness by simplifying traditionally used graphics into clean, contemporary visual elements.

MAIN IMPROVEMENTS

  • Simplified navigation makes information regarding memberships and personal training programs more accessible.
  • Implementation of widgets and additional clickable content on the new home page encourage more engagement.
  • Secondary brand, Vibe Nutrition, now has their own page that showcases menu options and nutrition bar hours.
  • Visually branded UI elements create an engaging brand experience and futher evolve Vibe Fitness’ visual identity.

CONCLUSION

The redesigned Vibe Fitness website now efficiently showcases the facility’s most popular services and branded products. Traffic analytics have shown that the implemented design changes are keeping site visitors engaged while seamlessly finding the information they’re looking for.
